Brief history, timeline and vision
"Yoga practice began for me as a small child as did the spiritual experiences that have happened throughout my life. As an adult I followed adventurous and diverse career pathways and travel, beginning my teaching in body work in my mid-twenties.
While living in Italy I discovered Homoeopathy and returned to London to study for two years. It was the first template I encountered that recognised us as mind, body and spirit beings whose well-being depends on the harmony of these aspects. With its roots also in India, Homoeopathy excited me and echoed my own instinctive beliefs and understanding of our spiritual nature.
I married at thirty one and had four beautiful children in four years, two girls and twin boys. It wasn’t until my youngest daughter was about to start school that I began to feel a very strong desire to teach Yoga, so I trained for three years to become a teacher. I began to teach in 2001 with great passion and my classes grew and I developed workshops and offered retreats. The deep magic of Yoga philosophy and its potential for transformation always fascinated me and the desire to share this inspired me to write my Yoga Foundation and Yoga Teacher Training courses which have been running since 2008.
On 12/12/2012 I opened the doors of the Mayura Yoga Studio finally creating my vision of an oasis of peace and tranquillity by the sea. I dreamed of offering Yoga for all ages and stages of life as a service to our local community and to grow an extraordinary Yoga Teacher Training opportunity with the magical spiritual side of Yoga explored alongside the practical skills needed to teach…the best of east and west".

'Namaste' is widely used in Yoga and the definition I love most is this : Namaste means that I honour the light in you that is the same as the light in me and when I am in that place in me and you are in that place in you, we see each other through our hearts.
